New Jazz Stars – Young Talents of Hungarian Jazz in Szeged

Three young and vibrant jazz musicians, three distinctive instrumental voices, and a summer evening concert in the special atmosphere of the Cathedral Garden in Szeged. The New Jazz Stars concert presents the 2026 recipients of the Lakatos Ablakos Dezső Jazz Performance Scholarship: Salamon Tűzkő on trumpet, János Egri on piano and Kornél Siklós on drums.

The evening promises fresh energy, virtuosity and the thrilling freedom of jazz. Salamon Tűzkő represents one of the defining voices of Hungary’s young post-bop generation, with a musical world rooted in swing; János Egri is a Junior Prima Award-winning pianist and composer, known as one of the versatile young talents of the Hungarian jazz scene; while drummer Kornél Siklós brings rhythmic drive, sensitivity and spontaneity to the trio.

This concert offers more than a musical performance: it is a glimpse into the future of Hungarian jazz. Youthful, inspiring, improvisational and unrepeatable – a memorable summer evening in the courtyard of the Episcopal Palace.
