The Fischer Annie Music Performance Scholarship, named after the Hungarian pianist Annie Fischer, is a distinguished Hungarian state grant supporting talented early-career instrumentalists and vocal soloists. Awarded to artists under 30, it is given to only a select few exceptional talents each year. Beyond financial assistance, it fosters professional growth, broadens performance opportunities, and helps artists become part of the musical community, playing a vital role in nurturing Hungary's future classical musicians.
Sebestyén Pellet is one of the most promising representatives of the new generation of pianists, as demonstrated by his selection as a scholarship recipient in both 2024 and 2026. His name may be particularly familiar to Filharmonia Hungary audiences: in 2026, he won third prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, organised by Filharmonia Hungary, where his outstanding performance attracted considerable attention.
Sebestyén Sztathatosz, a violinist, has been awarded the Annie Fischer Scholarship three times. Active as both a soloist and chamber musician, he is a regular performer at prestigious international festivals.
Boglárka Forgó, a young cellist, received the scholarship in 2026. She is currently studying at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and is also a recipient of a Bank of China scholarship.
The concert brings together different musical periods and worlds. The works of Poulenc and Ravel capture the wit, elegance and virtuosity of twentieth-century French chamber music, while Kodály’s Kállai Double evokes the distinctive character of Hungarian folk music traditions.
In the second half, the operatic grandeur of Wagner comes to life in Franz Liszt’s monumental transcription. The evening culminates in Brahms’s Trio in B major, one of the outstanding masterpieces of Romantic chamber music.
A remarkable musical journey awaits, bringing together the legacy of the past, the musical traditions of different nations and the fresh energy of a new generation of performers.
