Dárius Teremi

The young conductor, born in Debrecen, graduated in piano and solfège at the Kodály Zoltán Secondary School of Music. In 2019, he was admitted to the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where he initially studied piano for one year before continuing his studies in conducting and choral direction. Since 2021, he has been a student at the Collegium Symphonicum Hungaricum Conductor College. In 2023, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in orchestral and choral conducting under the mentorship of Ádám Medveczky, Gergely Ménesi, and Valér Jobbágy, and he is currently a master’s student at the Liszt Academy.

He actively participated in piano masterclasses with Zoltán Kocsis and József Balog, as well as conducting and choral direction masterclasses with Zsolt Hamar, Péter Halász, and Zoltán Kocsis-Holper.

In 2022, he won first prize at the Rezső Lantos National Young Conductors Competition, and in the 2022/23 academic year, he received the National Higher Education Scholarship. During the 2023/24 season, he worked as an assistant conductor to his teacher Gergely Ménesi with the Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra. In July 2024, he served as assistant conductor for the joint wind orchestra of nine European universities, led by Zsolt Hamar.

He has collaborated with several Hungarian symphony orchestras, including the Pannon Philharmonic, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra, the Kodály Philharmonic, and the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra. From the 2024/25 season, he will serve as assistant conductor at the Hungarian State Opera, and he has made his public debut conducting Mozart’s Bastien and Bastienne and Menotti’s The Telephone, both one-act operas.
